This year's State Championship was on Lake Ray Roberts and while it was windy and tough fishing, your very own Mansfield Bassmasters took 4th overall, the highest finish for the club since it's inception! The driving force behind our success was our co-anglers. John Caddell won the Co-Angler side with 20.33 lbs and also took home Big Bass with a 6.75 toad! Not too far behind in 6th was Glenn McCuan with a total of 16.48 lbs and a 6.38 kicker! The boaters were led by Todd Parris with his 17.37 lbs and Scott Fraser bringing in 12.51 lbs. Boater Don Bolander added 3.07 lbs and Shawn Smith totaled 3.42 from the Co-angler side. With only .72 lbs separating us from 5th place, every ounce counted. I'm thrilled with how our club represented and look forward to next year when the Championship takes us to Cedar Creek Reservoir. I'm hoping to send two teams to State next year and showing those other clubs how we do it here in Mansfield!
